The Morris Animal Foundation of Englewood, Colo., is issuing nearly $2 million in grants in 2003 for dog and cat health studies.
The grants include $1.6 million for 19 new and 17 continuing dog health studies.
The new studies will investigate cancer, autoimmune diseases, epilepsy, liver disease, blood disorders, heart disease, cataracts, kidney disease, pain management, antibiotic resistance and reproduction.
In addition, the foundation allocated $320,000 of grants for three new and five continuing cat health studies.
